Google launches Gemini 1.0: A powerful multimodal AI with Nano, Pro, and Ultra sizes, set to enhance various products and features.
Google has unveiled Gemini 1.0, its latest foundation model, available in Nano, Pro, and Ultra sizes. This multimodal AI can handle text, code, audio, images, and video, promising enhanced understanding and coding capabilities. Gemini Nano powers Pixel 8 Pro features like Recorder app Summarise and Gboard's Smart Reply for WhatsApp. Gemini Pro, launching on December 13, targets enterprise customers on Vertex AI. Gemini Ultra, for complex tasks, is expected early next year.
Integration into Google products like Search, Ads, Chrome, and Duet AI is planned. Early tests show a 40% reduction in Search Generative Experience latency. Gemini will also drive Google's Bard chatbot and Search Generative Experience. Despite its prowess, Google acknowledges Gemini's potential for mistakes and is conducting extensive trust and safety checks. Broad availability for developers and enterprise customers will follow refinement.
