Devil's Eye Lake, alternatively referred to as Aiken Lake or Aiken Spring, is situated in northwest China's Qinghai Province, specifically within Mangya City of Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Located in the Gobi Desert, this lake is renowned for its elevated sulfur content, imparting dark red and yellow tones to the surrounding landscape. The sulfur-rich water contributes to the infertility of the adjacent land. From an aerial perspective, the lake and its environs take on the appearance of an eye, giving rise to the moniker "Devil's Eye." Notably, Aiken Spring holds the distinction of being the deepest hot spring in Qinghai, boasting a depth of 647 meters.
